I've got a couple questions on the book challenge

Okay. First of all, I need to take a vote and see if audiobooks count. I'm not having a problem 'cause I've already got 7 finished, but I do drive a lot and before I pay for a library card, I want to know if they count...lol

secondly, if I write a book, does that take the place of whatever I've not read at the end of the year...lol I'm just teasing. But really, have you ever wanted to write a book? It's something that always creeps into the back of my mind. When I have my bouts with insomnia, I get out my laptop and start pecking away, and after I get all my thoughts on to paper, then I'm fine to go to sleep. maybe I'm just weird.

Anyway, nathan told me my last update wasn't really an update, so I hope this one will tide him over until I find something really spectacular to update about!!

Thanks..I have always wanted to write a book too, I will someday.

Audiobooks..hmm, not sure on that one, ask Hersch and Cheryl.

i dont count audiobooks, but that is my personal decision...im not abiding by your rules so you dont have to abide by mine

I say yes to audiobook because when I travel I use them. So for selfish reasons and the fact that I too have to pay for a library card I vote YES! And why are you asking us? You issued the challenge baby - you make the rules!

...good grief.

Dragonfly is Joe Joslin.

So audio books count? Next thing I know we will be counting magazines..sheesh.

Well, I think audiobooks should count, too, so I say they count!! Yes, since I'm not in city limits and don't pay the city taxes that keep the library open, I have to pay for a card!

allllllllllrighty then. :)

oh, yeah...I'm reading a book now that has three books in one. each one's about 150-200 pages, so they're little novellas, but I was just wondering if that counts as one book or three, 'cause I think it should be three, but I just wanted some opinions!

Herschel said...

well i would count it as three books as well

no magazines, hovis

jules, is it a pictoral novella?

Jules said...

not a pictoral novella....they're actually three separate stories by three completely different authors

well, I suppose I do make the rules, but I like to give my minions hope that they can each rise to my spot in the blog world

ok Julie - definetly 3 books
yes to the audio books
Chet - stop it already NO MAGAZINES or I could be done with this thing already. And no to the children's books because I could also be finished.
You know - if you challenged yourself a little you might have made it into Mensa like those of us in the genius club. You really can't expect to be a genius if you are trying to count Dr. Seuss.

Herschel said...

actually cheryl, that wasnt a good example because Dr. Seuss WAS a genius...and i feel that his books are what helped me learn not only to read, but to comprehend what I read...so Dr. Seuss was a abd example of a good point:)

Yes Chet..we were :) And Lord if magazines counted, I would have enough to do 40 years of this resolution.

Cheryl said...

OK Hersch - perhaps they helped you learn to read - but comprehension??? Really???? And Chet - I wasn't bashing you. I was only trying to spur you on to reach higher and dream bigger. Why settle for The Pokey Little Puppy when you could be reading Old Yeller.

seriously cheryl....you dont htink dr. seuss books teach kids comprehension...it hik he may be one of the greatest children's writers ever...but thats just me
