what a day

So it all started last night at about 5:30 when I woke up from my nap that, looking back, I now know I shouldn't have taken. Anyway, I woke up with a pretty bad headache. I took some sinus medicine to help with the pain and went to Bible study. The headache was bearable, but it was just lingering. I finally went home and got to bed. At about 4 a.m. -- sorry this is where it gets gross -- I started throwing up with my headache. I do that occasionally when they get bad enough...and when I say occasionally, I mean about once a year. So every 30 minutes to an hour I was in the bathroom. I was in there so much I just moved my pillow in there and covered up with a towel....all the while my head is still throbbing. Last time I had one of these we were out in the middle of a lake on a pontoon boat with all my friends about two hours away from home. fun times.

Anyway, usually after I sleep it gets better, but being in th bathroom as much as I was I didn't get much sleep and the headache only grew worse and worse. I started praying that even if God wouldn't take the pain away that I could at least get some sleep. I finally laid down in my bed after round 1 of "the night of the bathroom" and was granted about three hours of sleep. Then I woke up and it started all over again. The headache only seemed to be getting worse and worse.

Finally, I decided to call my uncle, who is a doctor here in town and see if there was anything I could do here at home. He said I should probably go to the ER...he would have seen me, but he had two babies to deliver..yay! Anyway, so I went and they gave me two shots in my butt. I haven't had a shot there in years. It was a good thing my mom decided she needed to drive me in, too, 'cause they weren't going to let me drive home after the shots. They also gave me three prescriptions. I thought I had a migraine headache, but it turns out they think it was just a severe tension headache from all the work I've been doing. Anyway, about 30 minutes after the shots my headache was gone and I was able to keep some water down, which I hadn't been able to do all night!!

Praise God for good drugs...lol! Anyway, I this isn't making any sense, it's only been about 4 hours since the shots and I'm still a little out of it, I guess you could say. I just hope these muscle relaxers work, or I hope the the doctor prescribes like a once-a-week massage or something like that when I go in for a follow-up! That would be sweet. Maybe insurance would even cover it! Boo-yeah!

Anyway, I hope you all had a better day than I did. I'm going to go to bed in a couple hours and just sleep sleep sleep!
